Workshop on good practices for induced seismicity management

Lessons learned, challenges and governance perspectives with a focus on geothermal systems

Dates : 5th and 6th November 2026
Place : Paris
Contact : osr2g@ineris.fr

Induced seismicity remains a major challenge for deep geothermal operations, as for other underground activities such as CO₂ and H₂ storage or fluid injection.

Recent experience, both in France and internationally, should prompt stakeholders and experts to strengthen risk management approaches and structure project governance by incorporating technical, regulatory, and societal considerations.

Organized by Ineris and BRGM, this workshop aims to address these challenges in a context where practices vary widely depending on countries, project phase and development.

The workshop will feature presentations and panel discussions.

Registration is free of charge and limited to 100 participants.
